OCTA 1720 Client Interventions
Instruction in occupational therapy techniques, interventions, and connections to improve the patient's function in relation to areas of occupation is unveiled in this course. Strategies and potential interventions as well as types and methods of intervention are extended from OCTA 1625 for improving quality of life for a patient. Group dynamics and the role of the occupational therapy assistant in planning an occupational therapy treatment group are introduced and practiced in this course. Practical training in interpersonal skills necessary for effective communication with clients, families, significant others, other health care professionals and the public are provided. Additionally, this course will introduce the student to common techniques and equipment to enhance human performance in positioning, transfers, and mobility.
