Coaching and Leadership Minor

The Coaching and Leadership Minor is designed to prepare students for a careers in Interscholastic athletics, NCAA, NAIA, Junior College athletics, youth and community clubs/organizations, private entrepreneurial coaching, Director or organizational leader of a private sport facility, and more.  The Coaching and Leadership minor can prepare students for careers in human movement-related fields and advanced professional or graduate study. Through the integration of research, instruction, and outreach programs, Kinesiology faculty lead interdisciplinary initiatives that address pressing concerns in our society such as health disparities, prevention of chronic disease, health and physical literacy, and lifetime health and fitness.

14 credit hours of coursework is required to complete the minor.

Note: Students with this minor may not be able to coach in K-12 schools. Students interested in pursuing coaching in K-12 settings should consider the Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology—Physical Education Teacher Certification.
