Creative Writing Minor

The creative writing Minor requires 21 credit hours in English with a Focus in Creative Writing. This must include 12 credit hours of courses not in the UIW core, and six of these credit hours must be from upper division courses.

ENGL 3375 Various Genres (e.g. ENGL 3375 Fiction, ENGL 3375 Nonfiction, ENGL 3375 Poetry, etc.); each genre represents an individual course; therefore, ENGL 3375 can be applied multiple times toward the minor, provided a genre is not repeated.

Elective Within English

3 credit hours from one of the other two branches in the English Department that are not Creative Writing (i.e. Literature or Technical Communication) at the ENGL 3000-4000 level. These credit hours may include one of the four survey courses in British or American Literature (ENGL 3351 or ENGL 3352; ENGL 3391 or ENGL 3392).
