OPT 6315 Clinical Ocular Anatomy and Physiology II
Three hours of lecture per week. This is the second part of a 7-credit hour course that focuses on the normal structure, development, and function of the human visual system. There is an emphasis on the clinical anatomy and physiology to include the changes associated with aging. The second part of the course starts with the crystalline lens and moves into the choroid, vitreous, retina and the visual pathway. Mechanisms involved in intraocular pressure control and mechanistic pathways for clinical intervention in the treatment of glaucoma, vascular autoregulation, nerve supply, accommodation, retinal structure and function, optic nerve and visual pathway defects will be emphasized using clinical correlates.
