OMED 7440 Emergency Medicine Core Clerkship
This four-week experience is designed to provide experiential learning in Emergency Medicine. This clerkship provides broad exposure to a wide variety of patient care skills, cognitive structures, and knowledge. Clinical experience in Emergency Medicine is therefore a vital component in the training of a well-rounded osteopathic physician. The Osteopathic Longitudinal Integrated Clerkship is also a component of this experience. Integration and application of osteopathic principles and practice to the management of patients is encouraged. Students will observe and participate in the daily patient care activities of an emergency physician in a clinical environment. This provides opportunities for students to develop a spectrum of clinical skills from interviewing, examination, documentation and management.
