ATHP 5336 Interventions I

This course explores the scientific theory and basic principles of musculoskeletal rehabilitation and therapeutic modalities. Emphasis will be placed on understanding the disablement model and learning how to plan, implement, document, and evaluate care plans for the rehabilitation and reconditioning of injury and illness across the healing continuum. Operation of superficial heating and cooling therapeutic modalities, ultrasound, and electrical stimulation will be explored. Foundational concepts of rehabilitation will also be investigated, incorporating biomechanical principles. Interprofessional collaboration will be a core component of this course.
