EDUC 3307 Essential/Literacy Instruction
This course introduces the essential components of reading, the features of effective literacy instruction, and relationships among oral language, reading, and writing. Students will be introduced to foundational literacy skills, identify the various genres of children’s literature, and will develop a foundation for teaching literacy in a culturally responsive classroom to ensure high academic achievement. This is the first course in a sequence of four for the reading minor. Prerequisite courses: ENGL 1311 and ENGL 1312
