RELI 30183 Revelation and Rhetoric: Biblical Prophets and Prophecy
Prerequisites: RELI 10023 or 10033 or 10043, or permission of instructor. In this course, we will study Biblical prophets and prophetic texts, with attention to their historical and literary contexts, as well as their religious and social functions. We will also consider the rhetorical and poetic dimensions of biblical prophecy, in order to reflect on both the positive and negative impact of religiously charged communication.
