MUSI 30603 Music for Social Change
Music for Social Change will examine how the study of music and ensemble participation are used as a vehicle for social change with marginalized children living in low socio-economic communities. Students will evaluate issues of race, gender, class, and trauma through the lenses of social leadership and artistic citizenship. Students will develop instructional planning skills and classroom management techniques within a service-learning environment at an EL Sistema-inspired music education program.
