CST 21000 Introduction to Communication Disorders

This course will introduce students to the theories and practices of speech and language development, pathology, diagnostics, and therapeutic interventions. Acquisition of language and the development of phonetics, morphology, semantics and syntax will be topics covered, as well as the disturbances and/or obstacles of communication through functional and organic pathology. Students seeking rewarding new career options or to supplement related vocational choices are encouraged to take this course.
