CST 10900 Intercultural Communication

In the era of rapid globalization, being able to communicate across cultures is imperative to our ability to function in diverse personal and professional relationships. The effects of multiculturalism in our everyday lives, and the ways that culture impacts the communication processes will be explored. Differences in values, assumptions and stereotypes, and verbal and nonverbal communication norms will be examined. Intercultural communication competence involves the ability to communicate and work with people from different cultural backgrounds and is an integral part of this course.
