OCC 20500 Principles of Occupational Therapy: Psychosocial Practice

Understand the impact of mental illness and psychosocial challenges on individuals, groups and populations including their ability to engage in daily occupations and treatment. Students apply theoretical knowledge to OT interventions used in all practice settings such as group treatment, and therapeutic use of self. Discussions regarding the contextual factors that impact mental health and it’s treatment in our society contribute to the students understanding. A Level I fieldwork experience allows students to practice these skills outside of the classroom.
