Program Goals:
To provide talented and motivated young artists with the knowledge and skills needed to help shape their future and best fulfill their passions and abilities. The foundation program provides solid experience in two-and three-dimensional design, photography, digital art, drawing, and art history. The Careers in Art course helps students understand the many fields open to them. Advanced courses further develop heir abilities and help them to identify the media and conceptual challenges that best suit their talents.
Program Learning Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:
- Recognize and analyze through oral and written communication the contributions fine artists have made from a variety of global perspectives including diversified cultures and societies throughout history
- Apply creative and technical abilities in a variety of fine arts media such as drawing, painting, printmaking, photography and design
- Use critical thinking to produce effective visual media through theory and form
- Evaluate and analyze visual media according to established criteria using appropriate terminology
- Create a portfolio for personal and professional use in the workforce or future studies
