NUR 11600 Nursing Fundamentals I
An introduction to professional nursing practice, the holistic nature of the client and concepts of health care delivery. The Nursing Process is presented as a systematic problem-solving process that guides nursing care. It is applied through the use of case studies and clinical experiences with a focus on meeting the body defense, psychological regulation, nutrition and elimination needs of the older adult client. The multiple roles of the professional registered nurse are explored with a focus on quality, client-centered, safe nursing care given in collaboration with members of the health care team. Basic nursing skills are taught in the Nursing Simulation Lab.
