NUR 11100 Nursing Process IA

An introduction to the nature of nursing, the holistic nature of the patient and concepts of health care delivery. The Nursing Process, with its presented as a systematic problem-solving process that guides nursing care.  It is applied through the use of case studies and clinical experiences with a focus on meeting the body defense, psychological regulation, nutrition and elimination needs of the older adult client.  The multiple roles of the professional registered nurse are explored with a focus on quality, client-centered, safe nursing care given in collaboration with members of the health care team.  Basic nursing skills are taught in the Nursing Simulation Laboratory.

ENG 101, PSY 103 and NUR 103 (or successful completion or challenge of NUR 103)
