ENG 246 Shakespeare - Honors

In this honors literature seminar, students will examine the poetry and drama of William Shakespeare in the context of investigating the conditions of life in Early Modern England. Students will be expected to engage with contemporary criticism about Shakespeare, particularly with respect to questions of gender, race, power, and theatricality (both stage and film). Students will deliver presentations to the class, engage in original research, and write several essays, including at least one research paper.

ENG 101 or ENG 103 and ENG 102 or ENG 104, or permission of the Honors Coordinator
