Disability Accommodation Policy
Rochester University complies with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 in providing reasonable accommodations to qualified students with disabilities. The university also regards these accommodations to be an essential and logical consequence of its Christian belief and practice.
A qualified student with a disability is a person who meets the academic and nonacademic admissions criteria essential to participate in the program in question and who, with reasonable accommodation, can perform the essential functions of the program or course requirements.
Rochester University's accommodation officer facilitates reasonable accommodations and support services for any qualified student with a properly documented disability. A disability is a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities. Written documentation from an appropriate professional is required.
