Philosophy and Religion, B.A.
The major consists of 30 semester hours beyond the general education requirement. A core of 18 semester hours is required of all majors, and the remaining 12 semester hours consist of religion or philosophy electives. (Note: a philosophy or religion elective must be used to satisfy the general education requirement. If a course from the major core is used to satisfy a general education requirement, students must include an additional course from the major electives category.)

RELG 1101, PHIL 1101, PHIL 1102, RELG 3305, PHIL 3305, RELG 2201, RELG 2254, RELG 3306, PHIL 3306, RELG 3325, PHIL 3325, PHIL 2201, PHIL 2202: These courses also satisfy general education requirements and appear in the number of hours for both general education and the major; in reality, philosophy and religion majors may have up to 55 additional hours to use for electives. Students may use elective hours to earn a minor or another major, as well as to develop additional marketable skills. The number of elective hours students may take will depend on the courses taken to satisfy general education requirements.
