Readmission Criteria
Students who have failed one nursing course or who have withdrawn from a nursing course during an academic term must reapply for readmission to the School of Nursing to repeat the course that was dropped or failed. Students may not progress until they have successfully completed both the didactic and clinical portion of the dropped or failed course. The following criteria must be met:
- Letter requesting readmission to the School of Nursing
- Successful demonstration of specified skills as determined by course coordinator prior to clinical rotation and in conjunction with learning contract
- Pass a medication administration exam at 100 % prior to clinical rotation
- Audit nursing courses as selected by the School of Nursing faculty
- Successful completion of a new background check and drug screen one month prior to returning
All nursing courses must be completed within a four-year period of time from the date of the first nursing course taken. Absence from nursing courses for more than one semester will require validation of previous learning and skills as determined by the School of Nursing faculty. The School of Nursing reserves the right to determine applicants’ re-entry status and placement in the curriculum depending on validation results.
