Select a Major

Students must use the college's career guidance systems, FOCUS2, to select an initial "Top Choice Major." FOCUS2 helps students make an informed career decision and notifies academic advising about students' general career interests. This also provides students an opportunity to begin the career planning process though self-assessments of values, interests, personality, leisure, and skills. Students may then identify and explore career options and make academic plans.

1. Go to phsc.edu/myPHSC to access FOCUS2 through the Student Portal
2. Follow the instructions found under "Create a Focus 2 Account" at https://career-services.phsc.edu/services/career-assessment
3. Create your new account with the password "Imagine" if prompted
4. Complete the Work Interest, Personality, Skills, Values and Leisure Interests assessments
5. Explore and save major areas of study that match interests and career goals
6. Click on "My Saved Major" on Home screen to review saved majors
7. Select a "Top Choice" major before meeting with an academic advisor
