HUS 1450 Dual Diagnosis

This course is designed to prepare social and human services students/professionals to provide services to clients diagnosed with both psychiatric illness and chemical dependency. Students will learn the various co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders and how these impact treatment and counseling approaches. Course topics will include etiology of dual diagnoses, severity of addiction, dual diagnosis impact on families, and best treatment practices. 45 class hours.
