Career and Testing Services
Multiple career resources are available on all campuses to assist current and former PHSC students with exploring, planning and obtaining careers. Professional staff are available to assist students with identifying their skills and aptitudes, learning more about a variety of career options and focusing on a career choice. Other services include guiding students on how to find and internship in business and IT internship programs, student job shadowing; information about local, in-state and out-of-state job openings via an online job database; resume writing critiques, career research, interviewing techniques, labor market trends, MyCarreerShines(online career planning) and vocational and career assessments.
Career and Testing Services also provides various testing options for students, including the Postsecondary Education Readiness Test (PERT), ACCUPLACER, Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE), Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC) test, College-Level Examination Program (CLEP), DSST exams, the General Education Development (GED) test, Pearson business and IT industry certification exams, and proctored distance learning examinations. In addition, the Criminal Justice Basic Abilities Test (BAT),HESI Admissions Exam,Test of Essential Academics Skills (TEAS), State Officer Certification Examination (SOCE) and other admission, exit or certification examinations are available.
