NUR 4164 Nursing Research and Informatics

This course provides the RN to BSN student with a foundation in nursing research and informatics. Design methodology, ethical aspects of research, reliability and validity and interpretative methods of analysis will be discussed. Principles of critical appraisal will be taught along with use of evidenced based practice to interpret findings. With regard to nursing informatics, this course will examine how information technology has changed the direction of delivery of health care. HIPAA compliance, electronic health record documentation and use of social media will be reviewed.
