Disability Services
Occidental College (Oxy) is committed to providing equal access to its educational programs, services, and activities for qualified students with disabilities. The College complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), as amended by the ADA Amendments Act of 2008 (ADAAA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and other applicable federal and California laws that prohibit discrimination on the basis of disability.
Through an interactive process, Disability Services and Student Support collaborates with students to determine and implement reasonable accommodations that provide equitable access to the College's academic programs and campus life. In addition to coordinating accommodations, Disability Services and Student Support offers Academic Success Coaching to support time management, organization, study strategies, and executive functioning; workshops focused on academic success, self-advocacy, and disability-related topics; body doubling sessions that provide structured accountability and dedicated work time; and referrals for low-cost psychological and psychoeducational testing. Students interested in these services are encouraged to visit the
Disability Services and
Student Support website for additional information.
The Disability Services and Student Support team is committed to fostering an accessible and inclusive campus community by promoting disability awareness, reducing barriers to participation, and supporting students in achieving equitable access to their educational experience. We value collaboration with students, faculty, and staff to cultivate a campus culture that recognizes disability as an important aspect of diversity and inclusion.
