POLS 211 The United States Congress
This course is about the U.S. Congress, arguably the world’s most powerful legislative body and the engine of the American political system. Students will learn about elections, legislative procedure, the committee system, the role of parties, and the health of the U.S. political system. Ultimately, the course will examine how Congress behaves as a collective institution, the incentives that drive the behavior of individual legislators, and the quality of representation voters receive in Congress.
