This junior seminar will focus on advanced scholarship on global sustainability and sustainable development, exploring the evolving challenges and opportunities in these fields. Central to the course are themes of energy transition and the geopolitical competition surrounding it, as countries navigate the shift to renewable energy sources. In addition to these dynamics, students will engage with broader issues of international cooperation on sustainability, examining the political, economic, and environmental implications. The course will provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the genesis, characteristics, and consequences of global sustainability efforts. It also emphasizes research and writing in International Relations, preparing students for their Senior Comprehensives. Open only to DWA majors with junior or senior standing.
