CTSJ 360 Feminist Methodologies

This seminar introduces students to the theory and practice of research in feminist and sexuality studies. The course provides an introduction to the key terms and debates in feminist theory about how knowledge is produced and the relationship between knowledge and power in processes of knowledge production. We will give particular attention to the interdisciplinary focus of feminist research and its intersection with other methodologies such as queer theory, transnational feminisms, and critical race theory. Students will also consider how feminist research and social justice/community activism are related, and will assess the critical intersection of feminist theory and praxis.
