BIO209 Introduction to Evolution
This course provides an introduction to evolution as the foundation of modern biology. Topics will range from Darwin’s theory of natural selection to evolutionary developmental biology. The course will cover evolution in the context of ecology, genetics, molecular biology, biogeography, and paleobiology. We will examine the evolution of life in the distant past, human evolution, and large-scale patterns of speciation and extinction. This course is intended for a science majors pathway and fulfills open, liberal arts, and non-laboratory science electives.
