BIO100 Current Topics in Biology
A survey course of major topics in Biology with an emphasis on current topics. This course will explore the practical impact that modern biological concepts have on our lives. It will focus on current relevant topics in Biology and may include (but is not limited to) cell function, genetics, infectious diseases & cancer, as well as ecology & climate change. Provides a framework for making informed ethical decisions regarding pertinent biological issues. This non-majors course does not meet the prerequisite for BIO 211 Anatomy and Physiology I. The course meets 3 hours of lecture, 2 hours of lab per week and fulfills open, liberal arts, and lab science electives.
