MAT50 Foundations of Mathematics Literacy
Foundations of Mathematics Literacy|Pre: Placement into Level 2 Communications and CARR test score between 25 and 55.|This course is designed to strengthen basic math skills and to provide students with the necessary foundations for mathematics literacy. Topics include solving relevant mathematical problems using numeracy, mathematical thinking and investigations, proportional reasoning, personal financial applications and fundamental algebraic reasoning. Use of technology is integrated throughout the course. College success content will be integrated with mathematical topics.|Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate the use of mathematics and technology to solve practical · problems, and to analyze and communicate results. Successful completion of this course with a grade of C or better satisfies prerequisites for MAT110 or MAT002 and confers mathematics proficiency.|
