RNSG 2213 Mental Health Nursing

1 lec/ 4 lab (2 Cr.) Study of the principles and concepts of mental health, psychopathology, and treatment modalities related to mental health nursing care of clients and their families. Emphasis on therapeutic communication, critical thinking skills, and a systematic problem-solving process as a framework for providing care to clients and families experiencing mental health problems as well as the role of the associate degree nurse in caring for clients and families experiencing mental health problems. Prerequisites: RNSG 2504 and RNG 1361 or RNSG 1442 and RNSG 1263.
