NURB 464 Critical Care Nursing

(3-0-3) This course will focus on critical care nursing essentials related to assessment, planning and prioritization of care for individuals and families across the lifespan experiencing alterations in health. This course will emphasize topics such as caring for critically ill clients experiencing body system alterations and multisystem alterations, care of trauma clients, principles of oxygenation/circulatory support, ventilation, hemodynamics, organ donor/transplantation, legal and ethical issues, caring for special populations, end of life care, interprofessional and collaborative approaches to care, and common protocols specific to the critical care setting.
