Health Care Informatics (Graduate Certificate)
This certificate program is designed for those who wish to pursue an information technology career in a health care organization.
Upon successful completion of the program, students will be able to:
- Examine the importance of advances in technology in the design and development of new healthcare informatics.
- Identify the elements of a strategic plan in the healthcare delivery system, and evaluate organizational strategy in the context of trends in the U.S. healthcare system.
- Evaluate the role of government-run initiatives such as Medicare and Medicaid as well as the functioning of federal and state-run exchanges.
Admission Requirements: Students interested in earning this certificate must be enrolled in the
M.S. in information technology program or the
M.S. in health care management program. Application to this certificate program after matriculation requires approval from the student's advisor and associate dean, and all paperwork must be submitted to the College of Business, Innovation, Leadership, and Technology. To receive the certificate, the courses below must be completed in addition to the degree program requirements.
