New York State Residents - Tuition Assistance Program (TAP)
Students who are New York State Residents may be eligible for the New York State Tuition Assistance Program (TAP). Students may receive TAP for up to four (4) years of undergraduate study, or up to five (5) years for certain approved programs. Because TAP is a grant, it does not have to be repaid.
What determines the amount of TAP that is received?
• The amount of tuition charged
• The student’s combined family New York State net taxable income (NTI)
The New York State TAP application may be completed through studentaid.gov immediately following completion of the FAFSA. Otherwise, it can also be accessed through New York State Higher Education Services Corporation.
