EDPD.5014 Effective Communication for the Classroom Teacher
This course will provide participants with an opportunity to examine key communication modes and best practices for effective communication in the classroom. Effective communication in the classroom leads to better lessons, stronger teacher and student relationships, and improved academic performance. Topics include: teacher communication competence, teacher and student expectancy, types of listening, how to use effective verbal and non-verbal communication in the classroom, how to choose a teaching strategy, strategies to use to motivate student preparation for participation, how cultural diversity affects classroom communication and communication concerns.
