PSY 3027 Developmental Psychology: Early Through Late Adolescence
This is a survey of the psychological research evidence about the changes in physical, intellectual, social, interpersonal, and personality functions which occur during the period we, in the West, call adolescence (i.e., between about 11-19 years of age) and what psychology currently knows about what influences those changes. In addition, we will study the major theories and models that attempt to explain the changes in and influences on functioning. The focus of the course is on normative changes. This means we are focused on what is "usual," "typical," "average," "normative." Our exploration will focus on the adolescents in the middle 85% of their groups.
