MUA 4475 Performance Project/Music Theater

This Performance Project course culminates in fully-staged performances of a Broadway musical. Performances are open to the general public, as well as the Manhattanville community. A fully-staged production is defined as being performed with sets, lights, costumes, props, and professional choreography. The rehearsal for this production is short and intense; cast members must plan accordingly. Students work with theatre professionals in as close to a professional atmosphere as possible. In addition to giving an excellent performance, students are expected to develop professional discipline and rehearsal habits, and to be knowledgeable regarding the composer, lyricist, librettist, and other creative staff of the original Broadway or off-Broadway production. Reading/Listening/Viewing and research assignments may be made. By Audition only.
