BIO 3099 RESEARCH SEMINAR
This seminar course is team-taught by all full-time faculty members, and is designed to introduce the student to scientific research problems and to aid critical problem solving skills through reading and writing in a scientific field of interest. It focuses on literature research, elements of experimental design, testing a hypothesis, analysis of data, reading and writing journal articles, and the use of computers for writing, graphics, and presentation. By the end of the semester, the student will have completed an extended protocol and have established a working literature base for their senior project. This course should be taken in the fall semester of the junior year (or in the third from the last semester for accelerated programs).
