EVST 375 Sustainability in the Urban Environment

This course discusses the unique ecological, economic, and social considerations of the human-nature dimension in urban and regional environments. It explores best practices for fostering sustainability in these settings. Specific topics include land use (urban sprawl), transportation, biophilic design, urban metabolism, urban agriculture and food systems, urban wildlife, green infrastructure, energy planning and use in smart cities, climate change and resilience planning, and social equity and environmental justice in cities.
