ENG 365 Seminar in Literary Criticism
An advanced introduction to the history of literary criticism and its dominant theoretical practices. Students read representative texts from various schools of criticism-formalism, structuralism, deconstruction, Marxism, psychoanalysis, gender studies, cultural studies-and apply them to several literary works.
