ME 486 Aerodynamics and Compressible Flow
The course explores the concepts and physics associated with the coupling of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and flight. It is primarily a study of the behavior of fluids for aerodynamic applications including investigations of fundamental aerodynamic principles, incompressible flow, airfoil theory, finite wing theory, classical compressible flow, shock waves, expansion waves, nozzle flows, and compressible airfoils. Further examination of aerodynamic applications and high- temperature flows involving combustion will also be included.
