Provides a historical survey of psychology, with an emphasis on the development of scientific psychology in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Among the topics explored are the origins of psychology in philosophy and neurology, "schools" of psychology such as functionalism Gestalt psychology and behaviorism and the lives and careers of psychology pioneers.
