The required Introduction to Women’s and Gender Studies class may be taken at any time, but taking it early in the sequence is strongly advised. This class must be completed at Kean University. A comparable course taken at another institution may be accepted as an alternative only with permission of the Women’s and Gender Studies Coordinator

Electives 15

Take 5 Women’s and Gender Studies-approved classes, one from each of any three different departments/disciplines/programs, totaling 15 credits.

Half of the 15 credits of electives must be completed at Kean University.

At least 2 courses must be at the 3000/4000 level.

Only 9 transfer credits can count toward the minor

Only courses in which a student has earned a grade of C or better will count towards the Women’s and Gender Studies Minor.

You can waive prerequisites, if applicable, by contacting the course instructor.

In addition to the courses listed below, other courses may count towards the Women’s and Gender Studies Minor, with the approval of the Women’s and Gender Studies Minor coordinator.
