MATH 3891 HISTORY OF MATHEMATICS

Survey of major mathematical developments up to the nineteenth century, including the development of the number system, Euclidean and non-Euclidean geometry, algebra, calculus, probability and number theory. Emphasis will be on mathematical concepts from a hitorical perspective. 3 hours lecture. Required Course for B.A Mathematics Teacher Option Prerequisite(s): Math 2416
