NURS 5503 SCHOOL NURSE AS EDUCATOR
This course focuses on the preparation and delivery of culturally and developmentally appropriate health education curricula in the PreK-12th grade school setting. Specific topics include methods and materials used in health education, learning assessment, classroom management techniques, student engagement, and creative lesson-planning including evaluation methods. Focus areas of the NASN's Framework for 21st Century School Nursing Practice pertaining to health education will be addressed. Required.
Prerequisite(s): Successful completion of all required prerequisite(s) and courses for the School Nurse Certification. Non-Instructional Endorsement track and formal declaration of the School Nurse Certification-Instructional Endorsement track
