OT 6960 ADVANCED FIELDWORK SEMINAR I
Course Number: OT 6960 Semester Hours: Four (4) Prerequisites: OT 6920- Seminar in Psychosocial Practice OT 6921-Adult Rehabilitaion Practice OT 6922-Seminar in Pediatric Practice Or permission of the program coordinator Limits on Enrollment: 18 Required for: Master's Level Occupational Therapy Students CATALOG DESCRIPTION: A clinical placement (Level II) for a minimum of 12 weeks will be made in a fieldwork setting according to criteria collaboratively set by the Department of Occupational Therapy and the clinical site. The experience will include skill development in the evaluation, planning, intervention and termination process with clients and appropriate administrative/professional staff. This course must be succesfully completed within 24 months following completion of academic preperation. Students must successfully pass this course and OT 6961, Advanced Fieldwork Seminar II, in order to take the Certification Examination given by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy, Inc. Each fieldwork site experience will be in a different practice area and determined by faculty in the Department of Occupational Therapy. Revised as of 11/4/12
