MATH 155 Number & Computation
(Contact Hours: 4) This course is intended for future elementary school teachers to explore our number system and support children's ability to reason numerically with four number operations: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Students will explore conventional algorithms, as well as develop and analyze invented methods for each of the operations. Conceptual understanding will be created through hands-on activities, multiple representations, and discussion. PREREQUISITE: Successful completion of MATH 153 is REQUIRED.
