Good Academic Standing

Graduate students must maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0. All student transcripts are reviewed after the end of each semester. A student whose grade point average falls below 3.0 is subject to probation or dismissal. Those placed on probation are limited to taking 6 credits per semester and should discuss their standing with their program director, academic advisor, or the Dean of Academic Programs.

Students are also at risk of dismissal if they receive a failing grade in a required course and are unable to repeat that course.

Note: BA/MA students must maintain a 3.5 average to remain in the program. BA/MPA in Public Administration students must maintain a 3.0 GPA to remain in the program. Students whose grade point average falls below these standards are subject to removal from the programs.
