SPA 309 The Theme of Justice in Spanish Lit (Taught in Spanish)
3 hours
How is justice handled in Spanish literature? How was it handled in the past and how is it handled today? How are injustices addressed? Is revenge ever a form of justice? Is the treatment of justice universal or does culture play a role in the way justice is handled? This course explores these questions―along with examining issues of gender, race, ethnicity, and class―as they apply to Spain through the works of Spanish writers, filmmakers, and artists. The course is taught in Spanish.
