Your Major and Your Math Requirement


MAJORS THAT REQUIRE STATISTICS OR ADVANCED MATH:

Anthropology (BA) (requires STA 250, which has a MAT 108 or 141 prerequisite; some students may need to start with MAT 105, depending on their math test placement)

Cell and Molecular Biology (BS) (requires MAT 241, which has a MAT 141 prerequisite some students may need to start with MAT 105, depending on their math test placement)

Computer Science and Information Security (BS) (requires MAT 241, which has a MAT 141 prerequisite; some students may need to start with MAT 105, depending on their math test placement)

Criminal Justice (BA) (Crime Control and Prevention)   (requires CJBA 240, which has a MAT 108 or 141 or STA 250 prerequisite some students may need to start with MAT 105, depending on their math test placement)

Criminal Justice (BS) (Institutional Theory and Practice)  (requires CJBS 250, which has a MAT 108 or 141 or STA 250 prerequisite some students may need to start with MAT 105, depending on their math test placement)

Criminology (BA) (requires STA 250, which has a MAT 108 or 141 prerequisite some students may need to start with MAT 105, depending on their math test placement)

Culture and Deviance Studies (BA) (requires STA 250, which has a MAT 108 or 141 prerequisite some students may need to start with MAT 105, depending on their math test placement)

Economics (BS) (requires STA 250, and the Economics Department encourages MAT 141 INSTEAD OF MAT 108 as excellent foundation for the major some students may need to start with MAT 105, depending on their math test placement)

Fire Science (BS) (MAT 241 and 242 are required for PHY 203, which is a science requirement option for this major. Some students who want PHY 203 may need to start with MAT 141 or MAT 105 then MAT 141, depending on their math test placement). PHY 101—the alternative option-- does not have that advanced math prerequisite)

Forensic Psychology (BA) (requires STA 250, which has a MAT 108 or 141 prerequisite some students may need to start with MAT 105, depending on their math test placement)

Forensic Science (BS) (requires MAT 241, which has a MAT 141 prerequisite, and 242)

Fraud Examination and Financial Forensics (BS) (requires STA 250, which has a MAT 108 or 141 prerequisite)

International Criminal Justice (BA) (requires STA 250, which has a MAT 108 or 141 prerequisite)

Police Studies (BS) (requires PSC 255, a statistics course with a MAT 108 or 141 or STA 250 prerequisite ) for major declarations Fall 2015 and later                         

Sociology (BA)
(requires STA 250, which has a MAT 108 or 141 prerequisite)
